Tribute to Brahms

String Quartet and a violoncellist Meehae Ryo

The DCMF String Quartet concert is a showcase of delicate interpretation enhanced by an inspirational Egon Schiele Museum and Gallery setting.  

The String Quartet No. 1 in C Minor by Johannes Brahms will commemorate the 190th anniversary of the birth of this great composer. The renowned violoncellist, Meehae Ryo will join the quartet in the second half of the concert, performing the gentle, almost heavenly beautiful String Quintet in C Major by Franz Schubert, which belongs among the best compositions ever written for a chamber ensemble.

String Quartet DCMF

String Quartet DCMF founded by Daejeon International Music Festival in Korea. This ensemble is an award-winning group with 7 years of experience in the Entertainment Industry in Korea.
First violin Ms. Hanna Choi, who graduated her professional master study in Moscow Conservatory and is first price-winner of Rimsky-Korsakov international violin competition. Second violin Ms. Soobin Jeon, who also graduated her master in Moscow Conservatory and price-winner of many different international competitions like Beethoven, Stockholm, Astana and Lepoldauer competitions. Viola Ms. Miyoung Park graduated her master in New England Conservatory and Cello Ms. Hyunjin Kwon finished her master study in Moscow Conservatory and first winner of Yelsky, Shabyt Astana and Ippolitov Ivanov international cello competitions.

Meehae Ryo

Cellist Meehae Ryo’s breathtaking technical virtuosity and captivating melody puts her as the most recognized cellist. After winning all national competitionsshe was accepted to Julliard School and completed her musical education at the University of Michigan. Meehae performed with pianist Martha Argerich and the violinist Schlomo Mintz as well as Berliner Symphony Orchestra, Nuremberg Symphony OrchestraRoma Symphony Orchestra and more. In 2013, Meehae recorded and released her album through Deutsche Grammophon, where she recorded Saint-Saëns and Elgar cello concerto. Previously, she has also released two albums with the Prague Radio Symphony Orchestra under maestro Vladimir Valek as the conductor.
