It’s been exactly ten years since the musical Mamma Mia! tore up cinemas around the world. In our country alone, nearly 750,000 viewers participated in the “destruction” and have been dreaming of a sequel ever since. Although it took a relatively long time, the sequel to Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again, you get two stories in one! With the first one, we go back to a time when Donna (Meryl Streep and Lily James) was a fresh college graduate, eager to explore the world, and unaware that she would soon stumble upon three civilized y
oung men and one uncivilized Greek island and have her life completely changed. The second story takes place exactly ten years after the events of the first installment, with a more traveled and wiser Sophie (Amanda Seyfried) planning a grand reopening of the family hotel on Kalokairi, which of course brings together all the “usual suspects,” including her trio of charismatic dads (Pierce Brosnan, Colin Firth and Stellan Skarsgård). The two stories are cleverly intertwined and linked by songs by a Swedish musical prodigy named ABBA, whether new arrangements of pieces heard in the last episode or hits that didn’t get covered before.
