The dramaturgy of the ninth year (August 4. – 26.) followed up on the positive experiences from previous years: selection of excellent interpreters and interesting works, and discoverving new places for open-air concerts. This year the space in front of the monastery of the Knights of the Cross with a Red Star was filled with music, as well as the Respirium in front of the Riding Hall of the castle. Modern premieres were realized: A Tribute to the Baroque Era and Music in the Court of the Rožmberks. Young artists were presented – the laureates of prestigious international competitions. Music from the Renaissance to the present was heard in performances by foreign soloists and ensembles, orchestras and conductors. Štěpán Rak realized the world premiere of his own work entitled 20 Thousand Miles under the Sea. The program did not fail to offer the opera gala with singers from the Metropolitan Opera in New York and La Scala in Milan, and the performance of the opera Don Giovanni. The festival did not forget about children. During the three musical and entertaining afternoons, the youngest visitors became acquainted with life in the castle during the reigns of the Rožmberk, Eggenberk and Schwarzenberk noble families.
