Quasi Trio in Gardens

A family afternoon with the Quasi Trio in the gardens will convince you that the combination of clarinet, cello and piano has been working perfectly for hundreds of years.

Quasi Trio is one of the few Czech ensembles that are able to bring the audience an experience in the form of little-performed pieces by musical greats. It has the following line-up clarinet - cello - piano. The members of the ensemble are united by their rich experience from domestic and international stages. David Šimeček is a clarinettist of the National Theatre in Prague, Judita Škodová is a member of the Prague Philharmonia cello group and Kateřina Ochmanová, apart from teaching, is also a chamber musician, among other things, an accompanist at the Pardubice Conservatory. The trio will play on the 3rd Sunday afternoon of the festival in the Monastery Garden. It will be possible to listen to Czech and foreign compositions and see for yourself the beauty of the not very common combination of three instruments merging into one melody. Classical Beethoven is not to be missed on a Sunday afternoon, and the melody of one of Roman Haase's suites will also be a delight.

Quasi Trio

The repertoire of Quasi Trio, founded in 2014 in Prague, ranges from the classical to contemporary composers, including Czech ones. All members – David Šimeček (clarinet), Judita Škodová (cello), Kateřina Ochmanová (piano) – have had experience abroad and success in international competitions and master classes. The ensemble completed a master’s degree in chamber music at the Prague Academy of Performing Arts, a two-year internship at the CRR in Paris and a postgraduate programme at the MDW University in Vienna. It is a two-time winner of the Best Chamber Ensemble Award, given by the International Summer Academy masterclasses in Austria. Quasi Trio’s achievements also include awards for the performance of Bohuslav Martinů’s compositions, won in both solo and chamber music. The ensemble has performed, for example, on the Austrian ORF radio station, on the airwaves of Radio West in the Netherlands, in the refectory of the Basilica of Santa Croce in Florence and in the unique Prague architectural monument Villa Winternitz. In addition to collaborating with the Prague Philharmonia, the Czech Philharmonic, the Chamber Philharmonic Orchestra Pardubice, etc., the members of the Quasi Trio also perform as soloists. All of them work in well-known institutions – David Šimeček has a permanent engagement in the orchestra of the National Theatre, Judita Škodová is a member of the Prague Philharmonia and Kateřina Ochmanová is engaged in teaching and piano cooperation at the Pardubice Conservatory.
