35th Festival Krumlov

17. 7. — 8. 8. 2026

The 35th edition combines tradition and modernity, developing the unique character of the festival, which draws on the genius loci of Český Krumlov and its surroundings. The theme of this year’s festival – Labyrinth of Stories – will take us to 14 concert venues, where music and storytelling will come together in a unified experience.

New connections

New or contemporary music is full of emotion. However, it often remains misunderstood by listeners, and this is what inspired us to create the New Connections concert series. We are bringing together different art forms, which helps to understand and appreciate the depth of contemporary work. We complement contemporary music with other sensations – dance, recitation, place, light, and shadow. As a result, the audience leaves with a more intimate, unique experience and is more open to accepting compositions that they would otherwise hardly consider music.

Hejl & St. Wenceslas Chorale

Matouš Hejl is one of today’s most prominent composers. In the meditative atmosphere of the Boletice church, St. Wenceslas Chorale will be performed in a new guise. Variations on the timeless melody will be infused with jazz elements and masterful improvisation by the performers.
