Duo Tesařová & Laštovičková
The new concertmaster of the Prague Philharmonia, Pavla Tesařová, and accordionist Markéta Laštovičková will present a program in the gardens that combines classical music with the temperament of Argentine tango.

Pavla Tesařová
Pavla Tesařová began playing the violin at the age of seven with Hana Metelková and as a child performed with Josef Suk, the Prague Chamber Philharmonic, Václav Hudeček and in a TV broadcast of Bruch’s concerto in St. Vitus Cathedral. She has won numerous first prizes: the Kocian Competition (overall winner), Talents for Europe, the M. J. Muzika Competition, Prague Junior Note, Pro Bohemia (overall winner), the Dr. Micky Competition (overall winner), Concertino Praga, Orpheus, competitions in Pula, Milan, the France Music Competition, and the Manhattan Music Competition (2020). She won the Grand Prix at the Beethoven Competition (2021), the Kalabis Foundation Prize, the title of laureate of the Franco Gulli Competition in 2024, and won the Prague Chamber Philharmonic concertmaster audition. She made her debut with the Orquesta National de Chile (Tchaikovsky), led a masterclass in Santiago, won the J. S. Bach Competition in Gdańsk, performed for the Korean president, gave a recital in Rome, and toured Japan. She has played with the Prague Radio Symphony Orchestra, Czech Philharmonic Orchestra, South Bohemian Philharmonic, Pilsen Philharmonic, Teplice Philharmonic, Pardubice Philharmonic, Hradec Králové Philharmonic, and other orchestras. She performs in a duo with Markéta Laštovičková, Bohdana Tesařová, and Juraj Škoda. Since 2020, she has been the first violinist of the Ševčík Quartet.
Markéta Laštovičková
Markéta Laštovičková began playing the accordion at the J. V. Stamice Music School under her mother Ivana Laštovičková. She studied at the Prague Conservatory (L. Horák, 2011–2017) and, since 2017, at the Danish National Academy of Music in Odense with Jytte von Rüden (Master’s degree 2022, postgraduate). Since 2022, she has also been a doctoral student at the Academy of Performing Arts in Bratislava under Boris Lenka and teaches at the J. V. Stamice Elementary Art School. She has won competitions in Russia, Portugal, Croatia, Serbia, Italy, Germany, Slovakia, and the Czech Republic; She is the overall winner of the Czech Conservatory Competition (2013, 2016), the Belgrade Competition (2019, 2022), and the Pula Competition (2013, 2014, 2019). She has received the highest award of the Vysočina Region, Talent of Vysočina, the Havlíčkův Brod City Award, and 1st prize in the Soloist Competition in Denmark (2023), after which she performed with the Odensee Philharmonic in 2024. She considers her solo recital at the Prague Spring 2018 to be her greatest success. She performs throughout Europe, China, and Brazil and collaborates with the Pilsen Philharmonic, the Pardubice Chamber Philharmonic, and the Odensee Philharmonic.
