Bella Adamova
Mezzo-soprano Bella Adamova is praised for her “warm, beautiful timbre” and exceptional expressive versatility. She moves with natural ease from Baroque repertoire to contemporary music, with a particular focus on art song and concept-driven recital programmes. She is a winner and laureate of several international competitions, including the International Vocal Competition in ’s-Hertogenbosch, the International Franz Schubert Competition, and the Robert Schumann Competition, among others. BBC Music Magazine has named her a rising star. She has made notable debuts at the BBC Proms, the Dvořák Prague Festival, and the Prague Spring Festival, and collaborates with leading orchestras and conductors both in the Czech Republic and internationally. The 2025/26 season will be a Mahler-focused year for her, with performances alongside the Prague Symphony Orchestra (FOK) and Phion, Orchestra of Gelderland & Overijssel, as well as the European premiere of the rediscovered opera Mariken by Bohuslav Martinů. Her discography with pianist Michael Gees includes the critically acclaimed albums Blooming (Challenge Records) and There is Home (Supraphon). On the opera stage she has appeared at Theater Bielefeld, the National Theatre in Prague, and in Lille and Aalborg as Anna in Kurt Weill’s The Seven Deadly Sins. Bella Adamova was born in Grozny, grew up in Prague, and studied in Germany, London, and Basel.
The Moravian Philharmonic Orchestra Olomouc
The Moravian Philharmonic Orchestra Olomouc is one of the most important and oldest Czech symphony orchestras. It is based in the historic center of Moravia and began its 80th concert season in September 2025. Since its founding on May 26, 1945, it has been a key center of musical life in the region. Its artistic profile has been influenced by prominent Czech and foreign artists, including Otto Klemperer, Václav Neumann, Josef Suk, Gidon Kremer, and Pierre Fournier. The orchestra has built up an exceptionally broad repertoire focusing on the great composers of the 19th and 20th centuries, while also systematically supporting contemporary works. It is also one of the leading interpreters of the works of Dvořák, Smetana, Janáček, and Martinů. The Moravian Philharmonic Orchestra regularly performs at major international festivals and has a rich discography. It plays a fundamental role in the cultural life of Olomouc, organizing the Dvořák’s Olomouc and International Organ Festival and implementing a number of educational programs for children and young people.
