Concert: Zrní
DAY WITH THE CHICKEN
The band Zrní describes itself as a tracker of new methods. They move in the space between alternative music and pop culture. Their work is marked by a distinctive poetic lyricism, creative use of electronics, and a composer-producer mindset that freely blends genres without limits. Their music is a black hole that swallows everything – from Glass-like minimalism and quirky disco to folk songwriting and psychedelic vertigo. Few bands are as full of surprises as Zrní.
On stage, they transform the intimacy of their recordings into powerful live energy. They can be wild or delicate, dreamy or direct – all of which makes Zrní one of the most intriguing and mature bands on the Czech music scene. The band has played in the same lineup since 2001 and has released seven studio albums. They’ve been nominated multiple times for Band of the Year at the Czech Anděl Music Awards, and in 2012 they took home the award for Newcomer of the Year.
