Lucia Chugai is a singer, lyricist, and songwriter who draws from the rich influences of the Euro-American jazz tradition. In her work, she references both the 1950s and 60s era and the present day, from which she adopts a modern, open sound, freedom of interpretation, and a cross-generational perspective. She studied singing at the Prague Conservatory and at the Jaroslav Ježek Jazz College (VOŠ). Specially for an evening dedicated to the legendary opera Porgy and Bess, she will present a unique program of the finest jazz compositions born from the legacy of George Gershwin. At the same time, she will expand the boundaries of traditional jazz interpretation of favorite standards through her own original compositions and modern arrangements. The main part of the evening will be followed by a traditional and well-loved jazz jam session, led by Lucia and accompanied by her band: Jakub Gunnarsson (ISL) – keyboards Tommy J Brownson (USA) – guitar, drums, vocals and a special secret guest.
