Concert: Batáty
Batáty is a funk-rock band from České Budějovice. The group features a wild frontman and a tight rhythm section, joined by a trumpeter, trombonist, and saxophonist. The band wouldn’t be complete without bassist Samuel, whose bizarre obsession sets him apart. This musical voyeur has a wild passion for potatoes. He claims that every bass groove he plays is inspired by his collection of rare spuds, which, according to him, gives the band its signature “fonkey” vibe.
Whenever Batáty hit the road, Samuel’s first stop is always the local farmers’ market in search of the region’s best potatoes. Expect unstoppable grooves, misunderstood jokes, and a naked Lukáš Holý when this wild crew takes the stage. You’ll leave with a heart full of love and rage—and maybe even a recipe for a simple potato pie.
