IMF Český Krumlov 2010 - for immediate release

A Unique Opportunity to Combine International Music Greats With the Beauty of a UNESCO World Heritage Town at the International Music Festival Český Krumlov, Czech Republic, July 16th to August 21st
(Český Krumlov, Czech Republic, 24 March, 2010) Consistently noted as one of Europe's top ten summer cultural events, the International Music Festival Český Krumlov offers a wide spectrum of musical genres performed by renowned Czech and international artists.

The International Music Festival Český Krumlov opens July 16th with an opera gala performance featuring Argentina's “tenor of the twenty-first century,” José Cura. His brilliant technique and suggestive stage performance will promise an unforgettable experience as he is accompanied by Korean soprano In Hye Kim and The Czech Radio Symphonic Orchestra conducted by Mario de Rose. Due to unprecedented and overwhelming interest in the already
sold-out gala concert, we are happy to announce an additional concert on July 18th.

A trio of Broadway singers, starring American soprano Christiane Noll, will present a Night on Broadway featuring the captivating melodies of Les Miserables, Phantom of the Opera, and West Side Story . (July 17)

Multi-talented Australian jazz legend, James Morrison will heat the Festival crowd up to a fevered pitch. (July 24)

A series of chamber concerts will include the world-renown Latvian violinist, Gidon Kremer, who will come to Český Krumlov with his own established orchestra, Kremerata Baltica. The Castle Riding Hall will be the venue for his technically perfect musical interpretation. (July 31)

Every year, The Festival highlights a country's gastronomic specialties and national melodies. This year, vivid and sunny Mexico will spice things up. (August 7)

The heat will continue with a unique collaboration of Czech violin virtuoso, Pavel Šporcl, with Slovak Gypsy cymbal band, Romano Stilo. (August 14)

The 19th International Music Festival will close on August 21 with Tchaikovsky’s Violin Concerto in A- minor and Dvořák's Symphony No. 8. Prominent Israeli violinist, Vadim Gluzman will solo with the accompaniment of The Czech Radio Symphony Orchestra,
conducted by José Miguel Rodilla.

The International Music Festival Český Krumlov is the largest cultural event in Southern Bohemia, and its importance reaches far beyond regional borders. With patrons such as the President of the Czech Republic and other international dignitaries, The International Music Festival Český Krumlov is a member of the Association of Music Festivals, Czech Republic. Auviex, an arts, catering, and cultural production agency with offices in Prague and Český Krumlov, is the main Festival organiser.
