2003

2003 twelfth year

  • Programme
  • The twelfth year of the festival took place between August 1st and 23rd and offered its attendees 18 concerts, seven of which were open-air. A new location was the Summer Riding Hall, where the opening concert entitled Dreams and Passions was held. The Symfonic Orchestra of the Czech Radio was led by Vladimír Válek. The evening was conceived as an impressive audiovisual composition with fireworks. A new element in the musical offering was the organ cycle Organum Hydraulicum. The International Music Festival Český Krumlov for the first time included in its program another genre besides classical music. The folk music of Hradišťan with Jiří Pavlica was played on the southern terraces.

The opera gala concer of singers from the Metropolitní Opera – Eva Urbanová, Youngok Shin (Korea)- soprano, Janice Taylor (USA) – alto, was wonderfully received. The singers were accompanied by the Orchestra of the Prague National Theater with conductor Ondrej Lenárd.
