1995 4th year

  • Programme
  • The International Music Festival Český Krumlov is growing, much to the joy of its visitors and its organizers. The fourth year lasted two weeks, from August 11 to 26. The concerts took place in new and novel places, as for example the Renaissance hallway of the Krumlov castle. The concert of the Ars Cameralis ensemble was aptly named At the Dawn of the Renaissance. The Czech Radio Chorus sang in the St. Vitus church. There was once again a concert by the lake in the castle garden; this time Water Music and other works by G. Ph. Teleman were performed.

There were many more concerts, but the opening and closing concerts attracted the most attention. Both took place in the Riding Hall of the castle. The festival opened with the poerformance of the orchestra of the Solistes Européens Du Luxenbourg with conductor Jack Martin Händler (Luxemberg). The soloists of the evening were: Cyprian Katzaris (Cyprus) – piano, Yigal Tuneh (Israel) – violin, Elyakum Saltzman (Israel) – violin. The festival closed with works by A. Dvořák and P.I. Tchaikovsky. Vladimír Válek conducted Prague Symphonists.
